Prague was an amazing city to visit. The beautiful architecture, interesting cuisine and unique culture provided for an exciting weekend in the Czech Republic. When we arrived to the hostel early Friday morning, we had a quick breakfast then set off to see the city. We visited the Old City, New City and Jewish Quarter with a tour guide who gave us a lot of interesting information and historical background on how the city was formed. We tried the traditional hot wine, which tasted a lot stronger than normal wine. After a long day of touring, we headed back to our hostel where we rested before setting out on one of the most famous pub crawls in the world!
Saturday morning after dragging ourselves out of bed, we went on another tour to see more specific landmarks in Prague. We saw the beautiful Prague castle where we went inside the Cathedral and took in the beautiful stained glass. We then saw the Charles Bridge and John Lennon wall, which was even cooler in person than in pictures. After this tour, we sat down for a traditional Czech lunch. The food there is very heavy- I don’t think I would ever get used to the mass amounts of meat they eat! Saturday night we went to an 80’s and 90’s club called Lucerna, which was like a flashback in time. Sunday we had plenty of time on the 12 hour bus ride to think of all the amazing sights Prague had to offer.
